Iconic. Nostalgic. Soulful. These are the 3 keywords BMW use to describe the new BMW R18, a modernised classic cruiser. Dipping into the nostalgic sense of design, the R18 reflects that of the original cruisers released by BMW. Powering the elegantly stylised frame bodywork is the iconic boxer engine, with the most displacement ever manufactured. The new BMW R18 classic is made for relaxed touring and pure enjoyment.
Available in either the R18 Classic or R18 Classic First Edition, the R18 Classic features a pure Black storm metallic finish, that emphasises the elongated cruiser silhouette of the bike. The R18 Classic First Edition is characterised by its white double lining and chrome design options as well as the sticker and logo.
The 1802 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine delivers a maximum torque of 158 Nm at 3.000 rpm. High amounts of Torque are constantly pushed, a typical running characteristic of a boxer engine. From 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, the engine will be delivering over 150Nm. What this means is that this tourer has quite a bit of punch to it! With a minimum range of 290km on a full tank, the R18 can travel a good distance between petrol stations.
