The BMW 100-Year Celebration Event at Morgan & Wacker BMW was an absolute success, and we couldn't be happier with the turnout and the incredible energy throughout the day. There was a fantastic crowd with a steady flow of enthusiastic people coming through the dealership, all eager to join in the festivities and admire the amazing display of classic heritage bikes on display. The demo rides were a huge hit, booking out quickly prior to the event and offering attendees a chance to experience the thrill of BMW firsthand. The event was a true testament to BMW's enduring legacy and the passion it continues to inspire in its devoted fanbase.
Kudos to everyone who attended, particularly those who participated in the Show & Shine or photo competition. A special thank you to the President of BMWCQ, Tony Gray and the BMWMCQ members, who not only supported the event in strong numbers but also supplied some historic bikes for display. Here's to many more years of BMW Motorrad excellence!
Show and Shine
The Show & Shine competition was fierce, with some truly outstanding bikes on display, making the decision-making process for our attendees quite challenging. We had over 100 votes cast in the Show & Shine competition, reflecting the keen interest and involvement of our attendees.
After all the voting our First-place finisher was Richard Wall with his 2023 BMW M1000R competition.
Second place went to Dan Scott with his custom restored 1980 BMW R65 and Guy Harding took out third place with his 1994 R1200GS.
A big thank you to all the competitors and congratulations to the top 3 winners.
BMW Heritage Photo Competition
Our winner of the BMW Heritage photo competition was David Curtis for his photo of him and his dad Geoff, next to his father's 1952 BMW R51/3. The bike has been in his family for over 10 years and was in original condition when he bought it and didn't require restoration.
BMW passion runs in the family as Geoff has owned 15 BMW’s over the years, many he has carefully restored and brought back to life, and currently has 4 remaining in his collection. Geoff has been an active member of the Victorian BMW club for many years. Geoff's passion for BMW was passed onto David and his brother, both having owned several BMWs themselves. David currently rides a 2022 F900R and made the trip to Germany to visit the BMW museum in May this year.
What a great story and awesome photo. Winning the title of best BMW Heritage Photo, David is now the proud owner of a new Cardo Packtalk custom. Well done David and Geoff.
